 No, there are other pages with tables in the center column that also 
 show this problem for IE8, as I listed.

 Right, the display:table is necessary for correct display of the 
 columns. Actually any css editing to fix IE8 should go in css/ie8.css so 
 the other, working browsers aren't affected.

 But so far I can't reproduce this problem in my localhost install, so 
 I'm hoping it'll be fixed on the tiki.org sites when they're svn-upped 
 or else something site-specific is causing it.
