I used the scripts/auxiliar/update-patch-version.sh script *after* I had rebased my patch branch from master, so VERSION had changed due to the release, so it was updated. I will have to figure out a way to prevent that from happening again in the future -- maybe make the script smart enough to ignore VERSION. I apologize for my mistake. I was stupid, but at least not stupid enough to go around changing VERSION on my own. Thanks, Carl
