Being a nvidia gentoo user, something that I know can bork a system, is
updating the nvidia drivers. My suggestion is to do: 'opengl-update
nvidia' and see if that helps. Also, as Jorrit said, check the
configure.log, and see if it can't find GLX.
Oh, and as a note about the mesa-dev, I do not have it intstalled, and
CS works perfectly. (although I've not updated in about a week.)
