startY problems

I compiled the latest snapshot of Y-Windows on Linux. Everything went
okay, however when I try to run startY I get:
Reading (header) from Y Socket: Success
Aborted

I can run the Y binary by itself, but when I try to launch yiterm or any
other of the Y apps, I get the same error. TIA,
