Re: Re: DateBk6 Bug: Editing Location Field on Treo 600 Causes Resets

First of all, I'm not asking a question!! I'm simply attempting to report an issue. Secondly, you're
correct that there was a response posted, but it was no more helpful than your response which is suggesting
that what I"m reporting can't happen!

Again, I understand that there is no "Location" field as part of the database on the Treo 600. However, the
location text is definitely being sync'd to my Treo from Lotus Notes through EasySync Pro and the Hotsync
Manager. The location text is showing up on my Treo 600 in the "field" accessed by tapping the blue
concentric circles which only became available after upgrading to DateBk6 from DateBk5.

I'm not an expert on the Treo or DateBk, but I am absolutely certain of what I see on my Treo! I don't know
"where" in the DateBk6 database the location text is being stored, but it is clearly there! Also, while it
is obvious that if accessing or tapping & attempting to edit the "Location" crashes the Treo 600, one
shouldn't do it, I'm suggesting that perhaps a modification could be made so that the device doesn't crash
by intentional or inadvertent access to the "field"

Again, I'm only trying to help by reporting something consistently observed after using DateBk6!

I believe someone did respond, but in any event, I'll take a stab at
it... If Location isn't a field in the standard Treo600 database
(which is correct: it's not), then just WHERE exactly are locations
getting "synced TO" on the Treo600? And if the field doesn't exist in
the database, where would DateBk look for Location? Or rather if it
WAS looking for a Location field, how would DateBk find it if the
field doesn't exist?

Are you saying that somehow you're syncing the Location to a field on
your Treo600's standard database? If so, where? (Or HOW?)

Your question doesn't make much sense. If Location is a field that
doesn't exist on the Treo600, then you CAN'T sync any Locations onto
it -- at least not contained in their own field. And so far as I'm
aware, all conduits that DO sync Locations to the Standard databases
actually include the Location as part of the event Description... As
such, the Location would show up as regular Description text, so
"accessing" it wouldn't really be necessary.
