Software Driver for Raspberry Pi GPIO Pin

Hi,

I want to connect an IR Receiver (TSOP with 38kHz carrier freq.) to the Raspberry Pi (RPi) Board.
Unfortunatly, the RPi can't support the the serial signal lines RI,CTS or DCD. So I can't use the serial
driver. 

The IR Receiver is connected to the GPIO18 Pin (P1-12 Header) of the BCM2835 processor.  

Which SW driver can handle this Pin, or which SW driver could be modified with minimal effort to support this configuration?
