Hi Sounds to me it is a cable problem. Check with a other shorter cable if the pc and router do communicate. If so then use the long cable again. I think maybe you made a mistake with the hook up of the connectors. I have sees guru's making mistakes with the pairs. Good luck and let us know how you fixed it .
