"Hello Laszlo!" text not visible in canvas in nightly build (3.1)

This is the shorter name URL I use .. I deployed openlaszlo-3.1.war in webapps ..

http://localhost:8080/openlaszlo-3.1/my-apps/copy-of-hello.lzx

I shut down tomcat5 .. disabled work folder .. and restarted tomcat ..

...

Still cannot see Hello Laszlo! in browser .. although dev console SWF can still be seen
 ..

Inspecting WEB-INF\lps a new work folder has been created ..

In cache sub-folder there is an SWF file .. 
if I click on this it launches in Macromedia Flash Player and I can read Hello Laszlo! 
and see debug console (I set debug="true").

....

Now .. I disable the embed.js script in openlaszlo-3.1 ..

replace with embed.js from lps-3.0.2 (which works fine).

and it works!

So my guess is root cause is latest changes to embed.js.

Has this new embed.js been tested with earlier IE browser (as I am using)?

Puzzling.   I'm not too keen on upgrading from SP1 to SP2 for the latest IE browser.

Firefox is fine.
