Subject: [plasmashell] [Bug 351832] New: panel and desktop freeze every time, 1-few minutes after starting a session Newsgroups: gmane.comp.kde.devel.bugs Date: Thursday 27th August 2015 00:57:42 UTC (over 2 years ago) https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=351832 Bug ID: 351832 Summary: panel and desktop freeze every time, 1-few minutes after starting a session Product: plasmashell Version: 5.2.2 Platform: Kubuntu Packages OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: grave Priority: NOR Component: Panel Assignee: [email protected] Reporter: [email protected] Every time I start a kde session, the bottom panel and the desktop freeze after about a minute (sometimes a few minutes). I can move the pointer but clicking on any part of the panel or the desktop has no effect. The clock in the panel stays frozen. I can switch between virtual desktops and still use programs that were opened before the freeze, or even open new ones, via keyboard shortcuts. I can use the pointer inside such programs and resize windows but not click on anything on the desktop, the panel (or menu). Nothing except doing a reboot changes this state. I didn't see any messages coinciding with the time of the freezing in /var/log/syslog . I don't recall that any update or install coincided with the onset of this behavior (about a week ago). I actually did one system update via muon-updater since then, with no change of this issue. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start system 2. wait about 1 minute 3. Actual Results: panel/desktop freezes Expected Results: should have functioned normally This is running kubuntu 15.04, 64 bit, on a Lenovo Yoga ideapad ('Yoga 1', 13" screen) with intel i5 processor. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes. |
