Proposing several wiki instances for the community's webpresence

Good morning, Open Dylan Community,

   In my last email I stated that I currently use the current wiki
instance to prepare the content a new Dylan book only. I presented
in that email also a short content outline for such a book.
   Several reader might have a belly or a head ache with this. So let me
introduce you to the big picture I have in mind.

  As the title of this email states I'm proposing here several wiki
instances for the community's webpresence. I especially see two additional
instances:

   *  dylan-annotated.opendylan.org
   *  dylan-reference-request.opendylan.org

IMHO:
    As soon as the wiki is based on the parser system Monday
    it is time to start these instances.

==   dylan-annotated.opendylan.org ==

* I first thought drm-annotated is the name for this instance, but
   now I think it is better to use this more general name:
       dylan-annotated

* The content of the dylan-annotated instance is outlined in a way
   that it is mostly in parallel to the chapters of the DRM
   (Dylan Reference Manual)

    ** There is already a collection of possible content
         which is outline in that way.
         This collection is based on messages which were send
         to comp.lang.dylan.
         Currently this stuff is viewable under the link:

http://www.fun-principles.info/slot/site/dylan/alpha/dylantalks/contents.htm

* How the wiki instance dylan-annotated will be integrated
   to the webpresence of the DRM is an open point.

    Here is my first tought:

    In wikipedia each page has a tab *article* and a tab *discussion*
    (and several others)
     ** Maybe we can design the DRM webpresence in a way that it also
           has tabs.

     For example then each chapter offers a tab that presents the content
     of the related chapter (or section) of the dylan-annotated wiki
     instance.

== dylan-reference-request.opendylan.org ==

   The Java community has Java Specification Requests (JSR).
The analog for our community would be

       Dylan Reference Request (DRR)

The wiki instance dylan-reference-request.opendylan.org (may be there is
also the short url drr.opendylan.org ) would be the place for proposals.

For example it content could state a link to
* a first implementation
* a discussion page for each proposal
* to a list of pre-proposal

You might have further ideas.

== General note ==

  I expect that the webinterface of these wiki instances will be different.

For example:

* the dylan-reference-request instance might have a interface which
   allows easily to recognize which state a proposal has related to
   the Dylan Community Procedures.

   Oh, may be we have another wiki instance: dylan-community-procedure.

== complimentary close ==

If anyone has time which he likes to contribute as coding time to the
community, let me state my preferences.

I would appreciate work on this projects

* integrating the Monday parser to the wiki.
** This is a prerequest to what I stated here

* adapting the Literate Programming to Open Dylan
      (currently Gwydion Dylan only)
** This is a prerequest to refactor the I.D.E
      which I think is necessary (see last email)

For those how like to inform about Monday and Literate Programming,

Enjoy your day and enjoy our community,

   pet-ro
