This looks great Michael! I'm eagerly looking forward to part 2 :)

I'm really happy to see Groovy used with Tapestry. Next web-app I write 
I'm gonna have to try use Groovy & Tapestry together...

BTW could we use groovy instead of OGNL inside the HTML templates too?
