I like this focus myself. Aza's dad, Jef wrote "The Humane Interface" which says a lot of well considered stuff about how our artifacts should best be designed to work with actual humans. Jef also summarized his book in a small set of principles and design rule which you can see at http://Nitpicker.PBwiki.com/The+Humane+Interface. My own current contribution is intended to make sites easier to explore and to remember by using automatic zooming and geographical navigation. See JustGo on the same wiki for a bit more about that.
