one last url question.. i promise..

well, maybe..

anyway..

i am chugging along here on my app, and i know i am just being silly
about my infatuation with url's, but i just want to make sure that my
expectations are correct..

there are alot of cases where having static urls really makes sense..
in one case, on one of my blogs, i consistently make a good deal of
money because there are several sites that link to one of my pages..
including a pretty good google ranking..

i would really like to make sure that if i have a url that looks like this:

http://<domain>/store/item/≤item_description>

that i could find some way to make sure that no matter what i do to
the code that runs the site/page, the url will remain constant...

is this the case?
