Re: NAMED db not found

Try the post SP2 update. (TID 2970469).

I had some issues with named after making some zone edits (it wouldn't
start at all, kept erroring out.) This update resolved it immediately.

The funny(?) thing is, I replaced named files with the ones from the SP2
patch to see if it was just a file corruption issue, and that didn't fix
it, so there must be something in the new code.

I also exported, cleared, and imported my zones prior to trying the
update with no effect...

One other FYI, the DNSDHCP tool included with SP2 is newer than the
DNSDHCP3.exe file I had previously downloaded and used. It displays
additional fields and there is another tid (I dodn't remember which one
at the moment) that recommmends not using the earlier version with the
sp2 or later named.

I have a NW6.5SP2 server which holds R/W replicas of all the DS
partitions. This had been running for a month or two. Yesterday, I
created a DNS server object for this server, and assigned it to act as a
DNS server for all our zones. Virtually all of them went fine. Except
one. the zone ccw.gov.uk does not work from this server. All I get on
the server console is:

error: zone ccw.gov.uk/IN: loading master file ccw.gov.uk.db: file not
found
error: zone ccw.gov.uk/IN: loading master file ccw.gov.uk.db: file not
found
error: zone ccw.gov.uk/IN: loading master file ccw.gov.uk.db: file not
found

If I look in SYS:ETC\DNS there is no ccw.gov.uk.db file. I tried to
unassign and re-assign the zone, but no joy.

I had a quick look on NSRL. TID 10086932 seemed to be the closest, but
this server was not an upgrade, and I don't fancy un-doing and re-doing
all the DNS configuration.

Anyone got any suggestions ?
