LG vx8600 no longer detected by BP 1.0.7 20090303

I have used BitPim for a couple of years with my LG vx8600 with only a
few, non-serious problems. However with the latest version of BitPim
1.0.7 20090303, my phone is no longer detected. Upon investigating and
watching the log, I see that it goes through its various options in
trying to detect the phone but each change fails. Looking at the
preferences, I see only two possible CommPorts: Serial (/dev/
cu.BlueTooth-PDA-Sync) and Modem (/dev/cu.usbmodemfd161). Neither
seems to work with my phone.

If I go back to BP 1.0.6i386 - Test 20080816, I see an additional port
which is being used. It is (*) USB Device - Vendor LG Electronics,
product VX Series Phone (Direct USB connection), (Interface
Diagnostics Interface). This version and this port still works, but
hangs the USB port to my mouse after completing a task (just unplug
and plug in to reset). That's what happened in the past; not serious -
just a bit annoying.

So the issue is that the LG port is no longer appearing in the
preferences with v 1.0.7.

I am using a MacBook Core 2 Duo 2.4 Gz with OS 10.5.7 and 4Gb RAM with
a USB cable. Please post solution if any.

Thanks
