That is what I expected from these files. I have done this several times
with other lists. The problem is that after I do gzip -d to one of these
files, I still have a binary file that isn't recognized by the e-mail client.
After a little experimenting this weekend, I discovered that for some strange
reason, these files are compressed twice.  

You are right Damon, I didn't realize that because my file compression GUI automatically double-gunzipped it. That is indeed strange. ------Scott.
