Automation is king.  How about two generated links to the
mailing list archives: "Latest" and "Most debated"?

Large improvements in the selftest scores could also show
up as "recent progress".  Even regressions would be news,
so _any_ big fluctuation could be given a line on the front
page.

You don't have a marketing team, so auto-bragging ftw!
