awesome does not auto scale to full screen size when I enter full screen mode in vmware workstation

awesome version: v3.4.6

vmware version:7.0.0 build-203739

Host OS:windows xp

Guest OS:debian 6.0(s) squeeze

Desktop Environment:GNOME 2.6

I have sucessfully installed vmware tools,and I can enter full screen inside gnome successfully,everything is OK.

But when I switch to awesome,awesome can not auto scale to full screen automatically.I have try Mod4 + F,but it does not works.

Anyone can help?
