Repainting every window all the time - version 7.2.8

I am trying to stop an "anoying" side-effect. Does anybody knows how
to stop repainting every window when i am opening or closing a window? 

Every time i close one window the bottom window is repainted, then the
next one, then the next one, until the one on the top. And my computer
is not good enough (300MHz) to do it fast enough.

Any ideas? Thanks...
