Re: Notes - Changed File Information Without Contents Change - PProAll
It seems that you have set your backup software to keep additional copies of files whenever the date has changed, even if the file size has not changed, and you only noticed after accumulating 60 mb of mostly duplicate notes that this is not a good backup strategy. Then you blame Powerpro for the result of your mistake. In fact only YOU are responsible for what you did. You could fix it by setting your backup software to use a changed file size as the condition for making a backup. S> I know that many people here wrote that Bruce does not use S> the notes with PPro and is not very interested in improving them. S> But to be honest - some tiny sripts (for searching, changing S> properties, sorting, etc.) and there is no alternative. I don't believe "many people here" wrote that nonsense. There are several features of Powerpro which Bruce does not use much himself but he continues to improve them anyway. That includes Notes. Look at the most recent improvements: May 2005 Added note.find Note recycle dates now accept forms like 3 days 5 hours 10 minutes Added lastnotehandle function Fixed keyboard focus problems with note.openmenu September 2004 Right click menu for notes can optionally be 2-column and now includes entry for running selected text as script. You can show notes only when selected windows are active and foreground. You can now set the tab size for notes. Added Note plugin. Category setting in note now correctly updates window text caption Date category no longer includes blank in caption For example, writing a new plugin for Notes, with 51 (yes 51!!!) services in it -- obviously it is not true that Bruce "is not very interested in improving them".
