meta-Plastic: a P2PJ discussion

Interesting opinion piece at Plastic
http://www.plastic.com/article.html?sid=03/01/22/21400141;cmt=45

This sparked the type of discussion re: mission/content/idea(l)(ogy) that I
remember seeing on this list in the past. Less about mode/code/acronyms and
more about why and if it works or should.

Especially good comments by ideocode, zanzibar, Mr. Faded Glory (both he and
JukeBox[author of article above] mention Wikipedia). By the end, some sort
of typically skewed mini-flames happen, but there's some interesting stuff
in between.

I keep trying to get the journalism profs at the university where I work (as
tech support to the Communication/Journalism dept) to even discuss P2PJ at
all, but most of the profs don't know even HTML/Dreamweaver; have never
heard of Plastic, SlashDot, etc.; and fear one or the other of the more
mainstream OS platforms (and have never heard of Unix or don't understand
what it means).

I don't have much of an insightful comment myself, other than to say I'm
grateful for the forum and the discussions of the past, and that hopefully
this meta-article from Plastic will generate some more discussion here on
the P2PJ list.

Thanks & cheers,
