Re: Moving 3000lbs?
Build a dirt ramp up to the 2 foot step you have to go to - this must be long and gradual. Use a block and tackle with very thick ropes around the block - several times around - if the corners are sharp use rags around the ropes where the corners are toughing the ropes. Keep the ropes below middle of the block so it doesn't tip over. Get 4 2X6 planks. Use a car or a truck or a tree to anchor the block and place 2x6 planks with grease on them right even with the bottom of the block and flat against the ground - no space under them. You need 4 of them because you load the block onto the first 2 and drag it onto them place the next two after them and slide onto the next 2 boards - then re load the 1st two. Make sure you place the planks as far apart as you can under the edges of the block - do not put them in the center. The grease on the planks makes a big difference so grease them well - make the dirt slope up to the step a gradual easy ramp angle. rick -----Original Message----- From: Schuyler Blanchard [mailto:smanblanchard@...] Sent: Saturday, September 02, 2006 2:24 PM To: stone@... Oh yeah also across a gravel path and then up 2 feet onto a work pedestal. It's got me stumpt I'd love what ever ideas you have to offer Thanks -:-}------------------------------------------------------------- Email stone-request@...
