Re: need to find stone tools in Israel please help
Richard I am not sure, but it is hard stuff and I know if you rub it together = you could create a flame, so how would you grind it, slowly with water and diamonds, I have no idea but that is my guess. I know Hana well what she wants are stone carving tool, the regular = stuff, She mentioned she wanted a compressor and some air tools, does anybody = know of where to find the stuff in Israel, most likely I would recommend at = most a 5/8 air hammer curtoria not throw and holder, they are too powerful, = she would freak out. Subject: [stone] in israel hi all, i am a relatively new sculptor in israel, working primarily in alabastar and soapstone learned with robin antar in brooklyn i have a few rasps and chisels with me, and a couple of stones, but that's about it. i need to buy more chisels and rasps, some grinders and an air press. where can i get those things here? also -- where can i get alabastar, soapstone..........? (yes, i know i have to someday graduate to harder stones, like limestone -- this is robin's fault -- although i doubt i will ever have the strength or patience to work in marble, even though there is an abundance of that here, especially in the south.)............ one more question --------- does anyone know which tools are needed to work with flint? there is a huge amount of it in the wadi just outside my house and i would love to try it...........also there is a quarry with beautiful quartz outside my bedouin friends' village.......... thanks, hana =3D20 -:-}------------------------------------------------------------- Email stone-request@...
