Re: Writing RPGLE code with Eclipse or WDSC:
Hi, the RPG Next Gen Editor does not officially has an offline editor. There are some offline capabilities coming with the editor in combination with an eclipse distro (not in the standalone rcp version of the editor due to some eclipse specific things). You can export a selection of source members to an eclipse project (File -> Export -> RPG Next Gen -> Offline Project) . The RPG editor is used for editing the sources but there is no capability for bringing the modified sources back to the server. It is nice to have for just viewing the code offline. Are you thinking of "RPG Next Gen"[1] perhaps? The author, Mihael Schmidt, is active on these lists. Well, RPG400-L at least. I haven't tried RPG Next Gen, but I have successfully used the iSeries Projects feature of WDSC to do disconnected work on RPG source. I sometimes use it even when I am connected, so that I can track my work over a project using a non-i-based version control software.
