Pasting does nothing instead of showing what's the problem

When you try to insert something from the clipboard, if that would
make the document invalid, simply nothing happens (no error message).
I think if the user issues a command that XXE recognizes then
*something* should happen. Also it would be helpful to tell why the
inserting can't be done. I can figure that out because I know XML
well, but I'm very certain less specialized users find this annoying
and confusing.
