Well I won't do the syno's and anto's but I will give you an example.
Our O' Levels teacher gave me the example when I came across this word
for the first time.

Suppose you are going to have exams in about two weeks, but
unfortunately you are not taking it serious and are just spending your
time with friends and watching TV. Your mother/brother/sister says to
you "thats good go and visit your friends and watch TV, you will get
good results".

Now that statement is ironical.
