Re: [ACAT] S.h. heading Political theology
Greg: According to Fr. Richard P. McBrien, author of Catholicism, 2ed., HarperCollins 1994 p 54 political theology is, "...insists on the connection between theology and practice and, therefore, suggests that every statement about God and salvation must be translatable into a statement about the human condition in its total social and political situation;" In essence, political theology is the general term for the many particularities in theology today. Meaning, feminist theology, latino/latina theolgy, black theology, etc. The works of James Cone, Rosemary Radford Reuther, Jon Sobrino, and many others, would fall into this classification. I hope this helps. If not, then the above referenced source should guide you further.
