It might is be worth printing this out, and placing it in the front of
your AACR2 binder if you have one, and it not, in a 3-ring binder.

Later we will annotate it for changes we will accept and those we will
not.

These are my current thoughts, but suggestions are welcome:

We will follow RDA in omitting "[sic]" after errors, and recording all
of the statement of responsibility, making "... [et al.]" no longer
required.

We will record edition statements as found, without abbreviation
unless in the item.

We will continue ISBD punctuation, including Latin abbreviations in
260. This will require very little editing of derived records, since
having 260$a$b$c elements lacking is rare.

We will continue providing jurisdiction using AACR2 abbreviations in
260$a, in brackets if from outside the resource.

In 260$c, years will be transcribed as found.

We will adopt RDA practice of using brackets for each element
supplies, as opposed to having them carry across subfields.

While I much prefer AACR2 abbreviations in 300, it would be too much
editing to shorten "pages", "volumes", "illustrations" etc. in derived
records, so we will adopt RDA spelling out. We will need French
equivalents for French items.

AACR2 abbrevations will be left unchanged in older records. We may do
a database walk at some point to make this change.

In 490/830 $v terms and numbering will be transcribed as found.

Mac
