Bates Hall in the BPL is indeed large--a reading room in the old style
(I spent many an afternoon there while in high school...)

As many of you know, the new film The Box has a brief library scene,
in a vast library full of creepy people.  The ALA weekly e-mail says it
was filmed in the Boston P.L.  Their reading room is vast, or was made
to look vast by the filmmakers.  It looks about the size of the dining
hall in Harry Potter.
