Hm, that's weird.  If you've put the password in the bookmarks, it's
supposed to use it, and if you haven't, it's supposed to ask you for the
password.

Have you by any chance set jabber-muc-disable-disco-check to t?  That
would break joining password-protected rooms.

Otherwise, could you set jabber-debug-log-xml to t and copy the relevant
parts of your *-jabber-console-...-* buffer?  (Feel free to anonymise.)
