- turn off cua mode
(cua-mode 0)
- turn on org-support-shift-select (should be on by default)

This way shift-select works in text, and shift arrow works in headlines and timestamps.

There may be a way to bind "fn-rightarrow", but you then need to actually bind the "end" key directly. Here is what I do (I use fn as meta key, so I'm binding to different things):

           (define-key org-mode-map [prior] 'org-metaup)
