Although you're not bothered about busybox, the fact that it's there is 
actually a help in trying to get GPL compliance for the whole device. 
This is because busybox are more active at appointing lawyers to follow 
up on disputes than many/most other projects.

(though I have no idea if they've ever been successful in China or not.)

There's a reasonable chance if they release the busybox source under 
legal pressure they'll just release all the GPL source code.
