real-foo, is this still needed?

Hi, traditionally, we have the real_local router which gives a possibility to bypass all alias and forwarding mechanisms and to deliver directly to a local mailbox. I am wondering whether this feature is really still desireable in these days, whether it should stay around, or probably be restricted to locally originating messages. May I ask for your comments?
