One think you ought to check for is if you have some of the gstreamer rpms installed that you need. You seem to be missing at least gstreamer-GConf, and maybe even gstreamer-audio-effects. Please give us output of rpm -qa | grep gstreamer and gst-inspect. That might help us help you further. > It installed fine but when trying to run it I get the following: > > > [dale <at> gandalf dale]$ rhythmbox > INFO ( 2968: 0) Initializing GStreamer Core Library version 0.4.2 > INFO ( 2968: 0) CPU features: (c1cbfbff) MMX SSE 3DNOW MMXEXT > registry: loaded global_registry in 0.031916 seconds > (/etc/gstreamer/registry.xml) > Rhythmbox: could not connect to socket > Rhythmbox: No such file or directory > Rhythmbox-Message: Couldn't initialize lirc. > > > (rhythmbox:2968): Rhythmbox-WARNING **: An incorrect toolbar > configuration has been found, resetting to the default > > (rhythmbox:2968): MonkeyMedia-WARNING **: Could not find value for > /system/gstreamer/default/audiosink, this means that either > monkey-mediais not installed properly or your GConf setup is broken. > Defaulting to osssink. > > (rhythmbox:2968): MonkeyMedia-WARNING **: Could not find value for > /system/gstreamer/default/audiosink, this means that either > monkey-mediais not installed properly or your GConf setup is broken. > Defaulting to osssink. > Rhythmbox: could not connect to socket > Rhythmbox: No such file or directory > Rhythmbox-Message: Couldn't initialize lirc. > > > (rhythmbox:2968): MonkeyMedia-CRITICAL **: file monkey-media-mixer.c: > line 716 (monkey_media_mixer_get_state): assertion > `MONKEY_MEDIA_IS_MIXER (mixer)' failed > building level > building level > building level > building level > building level > building level > building level > > (rhythmbox:2968): MonkeyMedia-CRITICAL **: file monkey-media-mixer.c: > line 716 (monkey_media_mixer_get_state): assertion > `MONKEY_MEDIA_IS_MIXER (mixer)' failed > building level > > > Am I fighting a can not win battle with this?
