Dear all Yes it was really the scheduler that I meant - sorry for the confusion. The obvious problem is the the non-HT aware scheduler does not realise the shared memory etc issues of having two processors on the same chip and therefore cannot optimise the load across the 2x2 processors. I believe this has been ported to the RH latest kernels but I wanted to know about the vanilla kernels since the RH versions are quite divergent. It is all about knowing when to jump in and not waste time doing something that is about to be released!
