Description of problem:
When logging in with gdm (both 32 bits and 64 bits Cooker) I cannot switch
workspaces any more. With kdm there is no such problem.

The problem is experiences in any DM: GNOME, KDE4, XFCE4, LXDE.

It looks like this may be related: https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/22533

From gdm logs I note:
Window manager warning: Error setting number of workspaces to 1: Failed to
contact configuration server; the most common cause is a missing or
misconfigured D-Bus session bus daemon. See http://projects.gnome.org/gconf/
for information. (Details -  1: Failed to get connection to session: Error
connecting: Connection refused)

and many many mentions of:

(metacity:16280): atk-bridge-WARNING **: AT_SPI_REGISTRY was not started at
session startup.

(metacity:16280): atk-bridge-WARNING **: IOR not set.

The problem started only a few days ago in current Cooker.
