restore leads to boot hanging on uniform cd-rom driver 3.20

Hi,
I made a backup, which I then burnt onto a CD and attach the archive. When
I do the restore (log attached) and then reboots, booting hangs at Uniform
Cd-Rom driver revision: 3.20*. With the debug parameter, I go a line
further: ieee1394 Host added ID:BUS[0-00:1023].

What can I do? Any help much appreciated
since I want to restore my data. Thanks.

For the full story, I made a first restore of the full data without
asking for the
formatting of the partition and it did work. Then, I wasn't sure all
previous data had been erased and therefore performed a second restore
asking for a previous formatting and full restore of the data. It is
then that the
booting process hung. As I thought that this might be because mondo
formatted in ext3 as far as I could understand while the partition was
initially formatted in ext2, I decided to reinstall Ubuntu from the
installation disk formatting in ext2 and then asked for a restore
without previous formatting
but...it still hangs at the same point when rebooting. Here, I'm at my wits'
end!....The probability of a coincidence with a hardware fault is
unlikely since a reinstalled version of the system works properly.
