Hi!

I found a workaround for this problem in the code for Curses::UI::Common. 
There they have:

{{{{{{{{{
    $key = KEY_BACKSPACE if (
	ord($key) == 127 or 
	$key eq "\cH"
    );
}}}}}}}}}

Having placed that in my code, it seems to work.
