Re: Adding nic to kernel still no trivial?
Richard- That link explains the LBE, which is used to build the whole LTSP terminal environment, in other words, everything under /opt/ltsp. That's much more than you need to build a custom kernel, although there are instructions on that wiki that mentions it. You can download the build kit from the link on this page: http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/LTSP-42 which has a link to the file: http://ltsp.mirrors.tds.net/pub/ltsp/utils/ltsp_kernel_kit_4.2u3.tgz If you've never built a kernel before, it's a bit scary at first, but once you've done it a time or two you wonder why you ever worried. The 2.6 series has a Qt configure GUI (make xconfig) that is really easy, although knowing what all the options mean can be daunting. That's why I start with a known config file and add/remove things I know I need/don't need. If you don't change anything, you should have the same kernel as stock ltsp. -Todd Richard Bos wrote: > Is it this page http://wiki.ltsp.org/twiki/bin/view/Ltsp/Build-LTSP-42 > I found it by searching for 'ltsp_kernel_kit'. > > I might be able to get the build going, but it ain't trivial ;) > ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
