/var/log  <at> ltsp-client ?

Namely, ldm.log and Xorg.*.log ... if you have a graphical issue, the 
latter one is the more interesting for you, I guess.

You can also try this after text login:

 	X :9 -probeonly >/tmp/x.out 2>&1

and check /tmp/x.out. Or without -probeonly: if you get a graphic 
screen with X mouse cursor then the problem is elsewhere.
