Thanks Michal,  I appreciate all the answers.  I'm on the svn build right now and I'll go ahead and make note of where the wiki directions are different.

As for the EDK issue, I'm using the system.xmp file found under hardware\reference-designs\XilinxSpartan3E500-RevD-edk91.  This file worked before under my VM, but I'm still getting the NGDBUILD errors now under CentOS.  I tried to regenerate libraries and BSBs, and still the same issue.
