What is it? Who made it, what model is it? What connectors does it have,
and which ones are you using?

That's because it probably isn't a modem. What I'm trying to find out is
what it is - again, please tell us what you have, not what use you think
you will make of it.

You're not running windows. You already have drivers for the BCM440x
chipset - and that's an ethernet interface.

I want to know what kit you have. At this stage, you can either tell me,
or else you can fail to get anything working. It really is your choice...

Look at the piece of kit you claim is a modem. Type the name of the
manufacturer you find on it into a reply to this email. Do the same for
the model number. Do the same for all the connections on it, noting which
you are using and which you are not.
