The code runs without error. I also tried it with a 10-2007 snapshot on Linux and it's OK. The CLX code should be the same in these snapshots, at least I don't recall seeing any updates in the CVS logs. It *seems* like your X server doesn't like you building an 8-bit deep pixmap for some reason.
