one more note:

I could have misunderstood your replica about hostname,
but it seems to me that you give some special meaning
to something <at> something.something string in erlang
prompts -- these prompts are just node names and
that is why you have to run table viewer in same 
application
you run ejabberd -- to let table viewer access current
node information. AFAIK.

Also in my case mod_muc, mod_irc, etc. are all on, which
causes no trouble.
