Correct, but it's another user interface. Maybe a bit like what Bart
mentioned about the contacts list with icons. Could also be integrated
to the roster, with commands in the context menu or via hotkeys and
status icons on the right end of the row:

| might be gone (auto-away) |
+---------------------------------+
With [o] my status icon, [I] the invisible icon, [B] a blocked icon etc.
