You can expire sooner, or even later. But then I'm afraid the post numbers won't be the same un both, the laptop and the main box and so I couldn't share the same ~/.newsrc. The rsync synchronization run by crontab (or by hand) works very well. I which I could find a solution as good as this one to synchronize my email.
