If you're looking to do real work today, then you need to go with the
Metaweblog API. Just remember that the MW API is meant as an overlay to the
Blogger 1.0 API, so any Blogger methods not superceded by the MW API need to
be supported. (blogger.getUsersBlogs, for example.)

The LiveJournal API is a robust option, and if you need all of its
capabilities, it's worth considering... LJ's installed base means that there
are lots of client options out there.

Personally, I'd stay far away from the Atom API for a minimum of six months,
and probably a year. Very few clients currently support it, and while it
will undoubtedly see a big increase in support down the road, it won't come
tomorrow or even a few months from now. When the train finally pulls into
the station, jump on board.
