Auto host discovery

Hi,

I am trying to make Zabbix "auto discover" systems within my network
but not having much luck 

I read the Zabbix manual/user guide on this topic:

....and subsiquently followed the instructions to the letter.

I created a main subnet using /24 CIDR notation for a portion of our
subnets and told Zabbix to use ICMP Ping as the check. I then
proceeded onto creating an "Action" sourcing from the Discovery and
telling it to "enable and add host" as part of the operations. I
didn't use any conditions although I have tried with them enabled too
but nothing works regardless....

Can anybody help me figure out why it isn't working?
