[indoexpat-uk] credit crunch in UK

Ex-display discount item
http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=806835
I recently bought an ex-display HP F2280 printer from PC World, the unit was out on the shelf and I asked the
seller to find the original box and its content. Luckily all printer's ink cartridges were there and I
decided to buy it with bargain price of £29.99. The price of the unit if it were still in the sealed box was
£44.99, but because the unit was a display model, PC World slash off £15 from the price tag. The unit works
fine at my home now. Also, HP had this twisted marketing scheme, the cheaper the printer unit the more
expensive the cartridge price. If I were to buy the lowest HP printer model, say HP D1560 for £29.35, then
the future purchase of its cartridge would cost me around £70. Therefore, buy higher model and check the
price of its cartridges before hand. It might be wise to keep the original box with the receipt inside as
well, in case if you need to return faulty unit and get the new replacement.
