Folks, I would be very disturbed by any candidate planning to abstain from any vote not addressed in their platform. For an absurd example, what if everyone did this, but no one thought to include being in favor of ending meetings in their platform? You would never be able to official close a board meeting. When I vote for members of a board, elect politicians, etc. I expect them to use their judgement in matters brought before them. In fact, I don't even mind them going against their election time declarations if they can give a clear explanation of why and they show some humility about having flip-flopped.
